WP14 The management GIACS contains at least one participant institution from each STREP.

The management is based on the following bodies:

• The Scientific Board consists of all the GIACS members. It discusses and proposes all the activities necessary to fulfill its mandate of serving the STREPs community in its effort to of internal integration and external affirmation.
• The Scientific Coordinator manages and coordinates the current and long range scientific activities as well as the scientific contact with NEST project officer. It also connects and arbitrates between the various WPs and the various STREPs.
• The Administrative Coordinator has similar attributes in as far as the administrative aspects of the project are concerned.
• The Steering Committee: the main executive body (consisting of the 2 Coordinators and of 7 members among the GIACS participant institutions).
• The Evaluation and Assessment committee (see WP15).

The daily and long range management of GIACS will rely on a very wide bandwidth of electronic communication insured by the platform at WP10. In particular the platform will allow a transparent and continuously updated view of the status of the various GIACS activities.

Objectives

Management:

1. To manage the work of the project, liaise with WP leaders etc.
2. To coordinate the activities of the work packages
3. To identify problems early, taking appropriate action, with the Steering Committee
4. To convene and chair the Steering Committee
5. To facilitate the work of the various Committees
6. To manage the project’s finances, interfacing each workpackage to the EC
7. To report to the EC according to its regulations
